Friends of Steiner Academy Bristol

The Friends of Steiner Academy Bristol is the main group for parents to join in with the community life of the school. Every parent and carer is automatically part of this, meaning anyone can get involved anytime in activites that support the life of the school. People can bring new ideas join in with existing ones, help to facilitate something long term, take on a particular project, help out at a school event, and anything in between. The class reps can help to coordinate the activities and ideas of parents and let parents know how they can get involved.

"Our aim is to put some wind in the sails of the school, gather funds along the way, enhance our childrens’ education and to bring joy, events, activities and resources into our growing, vibrant community."

Fundraising activities this year have involved a sponsored firewalk, the School Shop, Samosa thursday, cake sales, table top sales and, the big fundraising events of the year, the Summer and Winter Fairs.

Last year we set up a Craft Group and Singing Group for the parents and carers of our school and their friends and family.

Last year the CRAFT GROUP met one evening a month. Please contact us if you would like to help to run a Craft Group It is a friendly skill share with different things being made each session. We learn how to make things which we then sell at the school Summer or Winter Fairs to raise money for school. People love to learn the skills that their children are learning in handwork class, and to get to know each other in a relaxed way. The group is free and materials and refreshments are provided. Keep an eye out for Craft Group dates.

The SINGING GROUP has been running since last Spring, as fortnightly workshops led by a professional singer and performer who is an aunt of one of our children at school. We have learnt songs relating to the seasons and from all over the world. This group is always open to beginners as well as singers of any level of ability or experience.
